“Bac2MyRootz specializes in uplifting and embracing the versatility of Black beauty by promoting and selling Afrocentric accessories created by a Black-owned company reflecting bold, captivating images of us by us. I’m passionate about building confidence and encouraging a sense of proudness among women of African descent. For so long, Black beauty was not embraced by mainstream society and somewhat looked upon as being less desired, not worthy to be upheld. I remembered growing up being ashamed of my complexion and being uncomfortable in my skin. As I matured into a woman, I begin to see my skin as an absolute blessing and not a curse” – Makesha Thompson
